Event date: 21 June 2018
Cape Town Chamber members were invited to join senior representatives of the UK’s Department for International Trade (DIT) who shared with us the steps the UK, the Southern African Customs Union (SACU) and the Government of Mozambique are taking to ensure continuity of the EU-SADC Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA).
As negotiations on the UK’s departure from the EU continue in Brussels, parallel discussions are taking place with other trading blocs to ensure continuity of trading arrangements already agreed under EU auspices.
The discussion was led by Iain Frenkiel, who is part of the team at the UK’s DIT, charged with leading the talks with members of SACU and the Government of Mozambique. The event was hosted by Chamber member Bowmans.
